MATHILDE COMÈS


 



She had a varied and celebrated career across France’s major opera stages, with notable performances spanning decades.

1906: Made an early mark at the Paris Opéra-Comique, performing as Diomède in Aphrodite.

1910: Appeared at the Théâtre Municipal de la Gaîté in Salome, portraying Herodias.

1920: Gained acclaim at the Le Havre Opera as Rachel in La Juive.

1931: Returned to La Juive, performing the role of Rachel once more at the Théâtre de la Gaîté lyrique in Paris.

Her performances demonstrated both range and a lasting influence in the French opera repertoire.
