TINA DESANA (ALESSANDRIA, 1885 – ABANO TERME, 1979)
She made her debut at the Lyric Theater in Philadelphia, performing in Verdi’s Il Trovatore. Early in her career, she likely performed on Italian provincial stages. In 1908, she made guest appearances in the United States, with performances in Philadelphia, Washington, and New York.
In 1909, she appeared at the Teatro Goldoni in Livorno in Catalani’s La Wally. By 1911, her career took her to South America, where she performed in São Paulo, Montevideo, and Buenos Aires. The following year, in 1912, she sang in Alessandria at the Teatro Alhambra, appearing in Mascagni’s Iris and Wagner’s Die Walküre.
She may have continued her operatic career until around 1920.
