EUGENIA LOPEZ NUÑES (LIVORNO, 25 NOVEMBER, 1883 – TUNISIA, 5 NOVEMBER, 1946)
She made her debut in 1904 at the Politeama Verdi in Carrara as Maddalena in Rigoletto. From 1905 onward, she performed in various prominent theaters across the Italian provinces. In 1909, she appeared at the Teatro Regio in Parma as Erda in Siegfried and in Donizetti’s Maria de Rohan.
At the peak of her career, she moved to Germany in 1920, where she married and began performing under the name Eugenie Heilbrunn. She continued to perform and, in 1932, recorded songs in German for Ultraphon. However, as a Jewish artist, her career and possibly her residence in Germany came to an end after 1933 due to the rise of the Nazi regime. Unfortunately, her fate beyond this point remains unclear.
