DUGEN DE EGUILEOR (BILBAO, 1877 – BUENOS AYRES, 1952)
His real name was Diogenes Eguileor. He studied singing under the guidance of the esteemed pedagogue Santos Sarabia and made his debut in 1905 at the Teatro del Liceo in Barcelona, performing Wagner’s Lohengrin. In 1907, he appeared at the Teatro Arriaga in Bilbao, once again in Lohengrin as well as in Mefistofele. He reprised the role of Lohengrin at the Teatro San Fernando in Seville in 1909 and later at the Teatro La Fenice in Venice in 1911. He retired from the stage around 1935.
