He was by birth a French, however, grew up in
Belgium. In 1908 he made his debut at the Théâtre Royal in Antwerp, where he had his first success during two years. In 1911 he joined to the ensemble of Opéra-Comique in Paris, where he debuted as Laërte in ''Mignon'' of
A. Thomas. Nearly 25 years he appeared in this opera house, where he sang in twenty premières. He appeared also as Comprimario. On the one hand he sang roles like Don Ottavio in ''Don Giovanni'', Léopold in ''La Juive'' by Halévy, Tonio in ''La
Fille du régiment'', Pylade in ''Iphigénie en Tauride'' of Gluck, Wilhelm Meister in ''Mignon'' of Thomas, Grieux in Massenet's ''Manon''and as Pinkerton in ''Madama Butterfly'', on the other hand sang roles like Dancairo in ''Carmen'', Yamadori in
''Madama Butterfly'', Spoletta in ''Tosca'' and Beppe in ''Pagliacci''. He also appeared at the Opéra-Comique in the premiere of the opera ''Marouf'' of Henri Rabaud in two small roles (15. 5. 1914). In 1935 he retired from the stage, however, he appeared till 1939 as an
operetta singer at the French province and in Belgium. He often
appeared together with his daughter, soprano Hélène (Eliane) de Creus, on
the stage. He lived later in Paris.
