MARIO BINCI (CASTELFIDARDO, 28 SEPTEMBER, 1914 – ROME, DECEMBER, 2008)
At the age of 12, he was already singing in a choir. In 1940, he won the national singing competition in Florence. During the Second World War, he served as a soldier. After the war, he pursued his vocal training at the Accademia di Santa Cecilia in Rome under the guidance of Edvige Ghibaudo. In 1944, he made his operatic debut at the Teatro Quirino in Rome, performing as Pinkerton in Madama Butterfly.
