Amalia Paoli (Mezzo-Soprano) (Ponce, Puerto Rico 1861 - Ponce, Puerto Rico 1942)

Her brother was the prominent Puerto Rican tenor Antonio Paoli, but she was herself a recognized musician in her own right. In 1880, only 19 years old, she performed at La Perla in Emilio Arrieta's opera, ‘’Marina’’. In the early 1920s, Paoli moved back to Puerto Rico where she founded a music school in Santurce called the Academia Paoli.
