Aristide Anceschi (Baritone) (Modena 1866 - Milano 1938)





Probably he made his debut in 1892 at  the  dell'Arena Azeglio in Bologna as Silvio in ‘’Pagliacci’’. Already in 1894 he appeared at the Teatro Costanzi in Rome in ‘’Manon’’. In 1900 he sang at the Politama Regina Margherita in Cagliari the role of Scarpia in the premiere of Puccini’s ‘’Tosca’’. In 1901 Anceschi made successful guest performances at the Teatro Khediviale in Cairo. Guest appearances followed in Rio de Janeiro, San Paolo, Rosario di Santa Fи, Santiago del Cile and Valparaiso. In 1905 he performed at the Teatro San Carlo in  Lisbon as in ‘’Rigoletto’’, in 1907 again at the Teatro Municipal of Santiago de Chile as Sharpless in ‘’Madama Butterfly’’. In 1914 Anceschi sang at Covent Garden in Puccini’s ‘’La Boheme’’. He retired from the stage in 1926 and then taught singing in Milan.
