Augusto Dianni (Tenor) (Roma 1873 - Lviv 1938)

After his education he appeared in different Italian stages (among other things in 1899 at the Teatro Argentina in Rome as Alfredo in ‘’La Traviata’’) and also guested in 1903 at Covent Garden, London as Turiddu in ‘’Cavelleria Rusticana’’. A tour through Poland in 1903 had a such success that he was engaged by the opera house of Lviv and appeared in other opera theaters of Poland as a guest. In 1905 Dianni  made guest appearance in Odessa. He remained, in the end, completely in Poland, sang till 1918 regularly at the opera house of Lviv and after his retirement worked in this town as a vocal pedagogue.

He studied in Rome and made his debut in 1900 at the Politeama in Terni as Almaviva in ‘’Il Barbiere di Siviglia''. In 1903 he had in Rome a big success in performance of the Perosi’s oratorio ''Mose''. In 1904 he appeared at the Teatro Costanzi, Rome, in the 1906-07 season  at the Teatro Arbeu of Mexico City, in 1909 at the  St. Petersburg Conservatory, at the Teatro Liceo, Barcelona, in 1910 at the Teatro Colon, Buenos Aires. Here in 1911 he sang in the premiære of Tchaikovsky's ''Eugene Onegin'' as Lenski. Pintucci also appeared as a guest at the Opera Theatres of Kiev, Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo. In 1919 he performed at the Teatro Colon, Buenos Aires in the premiere of the opera ''Petronio'' of Gaito and in the premiere of Puccini's ''Gianni Schicchi'' as Rinuccio. In 1924 he sang at the Teatro Nacional of Havana (here he appeared as De Grieux in ''Manon'' of Massenet and as Duke in ‘’Rigoletto’’). In 1927 he appeared at the Palais Mediterranee in Nice. In 1933 he sang in Rome, Eiar in ''Le Nozze Istriane'' of Smareglia. His career came during of 1930s to the conclusion and he withdrew in 1933.

Her real name was Filomena Surinach. She was born in Barcelona, Spain. She made her debut in 1919 at the Teatro Liceo,  Barcelona as Zerlina in ‘’Fra Diavolo’’. Approximately 15 years she appeared with significant success in Italian and Spanish opera theaters, as well as in South America. In 1921 she appeared at the Teatro San Carlo, Naples as Rosina in ‘’Il Barbiere di Siviglia’’ as a partner of Armand Crabbé.

Bianca Lavin De Casas (Mezzo-Soprano) (Spain 1875 - ?)

Probably she made her debut in 1898. In 1902 she appeared at La Scala in Milan as Fricka in ‘’La Walkiria’’ and then sang there the role of Pierotto in ’’ Linda di Chamounix’’ of  Donizetti. In 1908 she performed in ‘’Carmen’’ at the Teatro Massimo in  Palemo. In 1910 she had big success at the Teatro Colon, Buenos Aires, where she sang among other things the role of Pantalis in Boito’s opera ‘’Mefistofele’’. In the 1911-12 season she sang at the Teatro Regio in Parma once more her star role Carmen; there she alsoappeared as Maddalena in ‘’Rigoletto’’. She was also appreciated in Spain as a Zarzuela singer.

Nunzio Rapisardi (Baritone) (Catania 1877 - St. Petersburg 1911)

Young moved with his family first in Palermo and then in Florence. Here, attracted by the theater of prose, he enrolled at the school of acting by Luigi Rasi and participate in the representation of some comedies to Stabile of Florence. Brother of the light sopranos Nunzia Rapisardi and Bianca Morello (maternal surname), he began to study song with the teacher Vannini. In 1898 he made his debut in Florence at Teatro Pagliano as Schaunard in Boheme. He spent the early years studying and singing parts of the same side in theaters nearby. In September 1902, after studying for three months, he made his debut as tenor at Politeama Reinach Parma as Canio in Pagliacci. But the attempt did not last long and he returned to the baritone roles. The success came in 1903 with a splendid success in Rigoletto at the Teatro Rossini in Venice. In 1905 at the Teatro Della Lizza Siena sang in the premiere of Alto Mare of G. Chigi. In 1911 he was engaged for the season by the Imperial Theater Petersburg but came to the Russian border was arrested because he hadn't a passport. Here, wounded his foot during a performance of Aida with a rusty nail, died in the event of a serious infection of tetanus. His funeral was attended among others Sobinof, Figner, Sibiriakoff and Stracciari.

He studied singing at the Paris Conservatory and made his debut in 1898 at the Paris Grand Opera as David in ''Die Meistersinger von Nurnberg'' of Wagner. In 1900 he appeared at the Grand Opera in the premiere of the opera ''Lancelot'' of F.L. R. Joncieres, in 1901 in ''Astarte'' of Xavier Leroux, in 1902 in the premiere of the ''Pagliacci'' of Leoncavallo as Beppe. In 1899 he went to the opera (Theatre de la Monnaie) in Brussels in which he appeared 15 times with great success. Here he appeared in 1906 in the premiee of Massnet's ''Le jongleur de Notre Dame'' as Jean and in 1905 in the premiere of the opera ''Martylle'' of Albert Dupuis. He created the same part in 1906 at the Covent Garden, London. Before the First World War he guested in Germany, Russia, Finland and in Holland. In 1908 he sang in the Paris premiere of ''Siegfried'' as a partner of Ernest van Dyck. In 1913 he sang in the Boston Opera among in the American premiere of ''Djamileh'' of Bizet as a partner of Lucille Marcel. In 1916 he went to South America, where he sang in Buenos Aires, Teatro Colуn and in Rio de Janeiro. In 1923 he appeared again in Paris Grand Opera in ''Samson et Dalila'' of Saint-Saens and in ''La damnation de Faust'' of Berlioz, in 1924 in the Theatre des Champs-Elysees in the premiere of the opera ''Les Burgraves'' of Leon Sachs. Then, in the following season he finished his career.

Aristodemo Sillich (Bass) (Trieste 1858 - ? 1943)

He took a vocal lessons from H. Friedrich in Trieste and made his debut in 1876 at the Teatro Verdi in Trieste. In 1887 he appeared at the Teatro Verdi in Pisa in Bellini’s ‘’La Sonnambula’’. In 1888 he sang at La Scala in the premiere of the opera ‘’'Nestorio’’ of Gallignani. In 1889 he performed at the Teatro San Carlo in Naples; He had his biggest success in Poland, where he guested in 1890 for the first time at the Teatro Imperiale in concert. He sang in Warsaw till 1903. He sang in Warsaw his roles in Italian language, as well as in Polish. In 1903 he left Warsaw and returned to Trieste and in 1915 he finished his stage career. His son Jerzy Sillich was a conductor and worked at Polish theaters where he still appeared after the second World War in Bytom (Beuthen) and Wroclaw (Wroclaw).

Guido Ciccolini (Tenor) (Roma 1885 - Neptune/New Jersey 1963)

                                      

He was a student of famed teacher Antonio Cotogni. He made his debut in Bologna as Alfredo in ‘’La Traviata’’ (1907). In 1909 he travelled around Belgium and Holland with the opera troupe of Mme de Restier and sang in Amsterdam as Pinkerton in the Dutch premiere of Puccini’s ‘’Madame Butterfly’’. Guest performances followed in England, Ireland and France. He was very successful in Russia, where he appeared at the Opera Theatres of St. Petersburg and Odessa as well as in Warsaw. In 1911 he undertook with an opera troupe (together with Nellie Melba) an Australia tour. He had a ticket to sail on the "RMS Titanic" (still in his family's possesion) but missed the sailing due to a opera performance scheduling change. In 1914 he sang at the Teatro Lirico in Milan in the Italian premiere of ‘’I Quattro Rusteghi’’ of Ermanno Wolf-Ferrari. Since 1914 he appeared several times at the Opera Theatre of Boston, in 1915 at Havana (among other things as a Turiddu in ‘’Cavalleria rusticana’’), in the 1918-19 season in Chicago, at the Civic Opera House. There he appeared in ‘’Rigoletto’’, ‘’La Traviata’’, ‘’Il Barbiere di Siviglia’’ and ‘’La Boheme’’. In 1926 he sang in the funeral of his friend, famous actor Rudolph Valentino. He retired from the stage in 1922.

Gino Vanelli (Baritone) (Bergamo 1896 - Monza 1969)

He studied singing in Milan with Dante Lari and made his debut at the Teatro Olimpia of Bassano del Grappa in ‘’La ‘’Traviata'' and ‘’Il Trovatore’’. In 1924 he appeared at the Teatro Alhambra of Alessandria  in ‘’Lucia di Lammermoor’’. From 1926 to 1928 he appeared at La Scala singing in ‘’Manon’’, ‘’Boheme’’ and ‘’ Hansel e Gretell’’. At the Teatro Costanzi in Rome he sang in 1934 as Alfio in ‘’Cavalleria rusticana’’. In 1932 he appeared at the opera house of Rome in the premiere of the opera ‘’La of Donna Serpente’’ of A. Casella, two years later in L. Refice’s opera ‘’Cecilia’’. In the Teatro Colon of Buenos Aires he took among other things in the premieres of the Argentine operas ’’Chrysanthemum’’ of  Peacan del Sar (1927) and ‘’Frenos’’ of R. H. Espoile (1928). Probably he retired from the stage in 1952.
