FRITZ WOLFF
(MUNICH, GERMANY, OCTOBER 28, 1894 - MUNICH, GERMANY, JANUARY 18, 1957)
He first became an officer and
took part in the First World War. After the war, he studied under Heinrich
König in Würzburg. In 1925, he made his debut at the Bayreuth Festival as Loge
in Das Rheingold. Until 1942, he was engaged at the Berlin State Opera. He was
then called up for military service and was taken prisoner by the Russians. In
1950, he was appointed professor at the Munich University of Music and Theatre.
