LOUIS KREIDLER (? 1880 - ?)

 

 

 

Already in the 1912–1913 season, he was engaged by the Metropolitan Opera in New York, where he appeared as a comprimario in the premieres of the operas Boris Godunov (March 19, 1913, under Arturo Toscanini) and Cyrano de Bergerac by Walter Damrosch (February 27, 1913). He also sang the role of Kothner in Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg.

During the 1913–1915 seasons, he took part in the first opera performances on the open-air stage of Ravinia near Chicago, where he was heard in major baritone roles.

In the 1916–1917 season, he appeared with the Chicago Opera as Sharpless in Madama Butterfly, Silvio in Pagliacci, the Father in Hänsel und Gretel, Escamillo in Carmen, and in the premiere of the opera Madeleine by Victor Herbert.

Later, he performed with the Century Opera Company in various cities across the United States.
