Ella Tordek (Tordková) ( Kamenitz, Czech Republic 1878, 19/2 - München, Germany 1918, 8/9)




She was born Ella Tordková. From 1892 to 1897 she studied at the Conservatoire of Prague under the famous  soprano Mathilde Mallinger, later in Berlin. She made her debutin 1898 at the Czech National Theater in Prague as Marie in B. Smetana’s ‘’The Bartered Bride’’. She was a member of this house during the 1899-1901 seasons. Here she appeared on 31. 3. 1901 in the premiere of the opera ‘’Rusalka’’ of Antonín Dvořák in a small part. In 1901 she was engaged by the Court Opera of Munich. In 1903 she excited a sensation, when she sang the part of Pamina in "Zauberflöte" at the Munich festival. She had a very successful career at the Munich Court Opera and performed in Munich in several opera premieres of Ermanno Wolf Ferrari: ‘’Le Donne curiose’’ 27. 11. 1903/‘’I quattro Rusteghi’’19.3.1906/ Il Segreto di Susanna 4. 12. 1909. In 1913 she picked up her Munich engagements. She was married the Dr. Gustav Gerhäuser.
