Carl Richter (Baritone) (Kristianstad, Sverige 3 juli 1885 - Kristianstad, Sverige 25 december 1940)





He began his education with Gillis Bratt and with Agnes Edholm in Stockholm and then was a pupil of Vittorio Vanzo in Milan. In 1911 he made his debut at the Royal Opera in Stockholm as Amonasro in ‘’Aida’’. In 1915 he became a regular member of the Stockholm Opera and appeared here up to his death. In this long time among his repertoire included Amfortas in ‘’Parsifal’’, Golo in ‘’Pelléas et Mélisande’’, Don Giovanni, Scarpia in ‘’Tosca’’ and many other parts. In 1917 he appeared as a guest at the Municipal Theater of Hamburg.
