He received his education at the Music Academy
in Vienna and
began his stage career at the Opernhaus
in Liegnitz. He made guest appearances in France ,
Italy , Belgium , Switzerland
and Yugoslavia .
His repertoire included Florestan in ‘’Fidelio’’, Tannhäuser, Otello,
Cavaradossi in ‘’Tosca’’, Canio in ‘’Pagliacci’’, Duke in ‘’Rigoletto’’, Don
Carlo, Fra Diavolo, Don José in ‘’Carmen’’, Dimitri in ‘’Boris Godunov’’, Pedro
in "Tiefland" and Tamino in "Zauberflöte". In
1956 he left Dresden and sat down in Vienna . Since 1958 he
worked as a professor at the Wiener
Musikhochschule.
