LUIGI MANFRINI (MILAN, 1880 – MILAN, 1931)
He began his stage career in 1910 in Italy and gradually built a reputation in operatic circles. In 1914, he performed at the Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires, primarily in smaller roles. That same year, he participated in the premieres of two significant works at the Colón: Il sogno di Alma by Carlos López Buchardo (August 4, 1914) and Parsifal by Richard Wagner, where he sang the role of Titurel.
In 1920, he appeared at the Politeama Genovese in Genoa in Il Barbiere di Siviglia and performed as Ramfis in Aida at the Verona Arena Festival. His career expanded internationally, including appearances at Covent Garden in London, where he sang as Ramfis in Aida in 1926 and returned for performances in 1930.
Throughout his career, he occasionally performed on major Italian opera stages. Unfortunately, in 1930, he fell seriously ill, forcing him to retire from the stage.
