HANS BAHLING (FRANKFURT AM MAIN, 14 APRIL, 1878 – AUERBACH/BERGSTRAßE, 12 JANUARY, 1938)
He made his operatic debut in 1903 at the Stadttheater in Plauen (Saxony) and sang during the 1904-1905 season at the Stadttheater in Aachen. From 1905 to 1908, he was engaged at the Stadttheater in Barmen, after which he joined the Nationaltheater in Mannheim, where he had a career spanning over 20 years.
He appeared as a guest artist at major venues, including the Hofoper in Munich (1906, 1909), the Hofoper in Stuttgart (1909), and the Opernhaus in Leipzig (1910).
In Mannheim, he participated in several significant premieres:

He was highly regarded as a performer in Richard Wagner’s operas, excelling in roles such as Hans Sachs and Wotan. His repertoire also included notable parts like Rigoletto, Pizarro (Fidelio), Sebastiano (Tiefland), Borromeo (Palestrina), Nelusco (L’Africaine), and Amonasro (Aida).
Additionally, he achieved success as a concert singer. He was married to soprano Sofie Berg.
