Felice Lyne (Soprano) (1887, 28/3, Slater, Missouri - 1935, 1/9, Allentown, Pennsylvania)



She spent her childhood in Kansas City, where her father and grandfather worked as doctors. She studied in Paris under Mathilde Marchesi de Castrone, Lloyd d'Aubigné and Jean de Reszke and probably made her debut in the USA (1905?). In 1911, opposite Maurice Renaud, she appeared at the London Opera House of Oscar Hammerstein as Gilda in ''Rigoletto'' . She sang there in 1912 in the premiere of the opera ''The Children of Don'' by Joseph Holbrooke. In 1912 she took part in the London première of J. Massenet's ''Don Quichotte'' (as Pedro). In 1913 she came back to her American native country and undertook there  a tour with the Quinlan Opera Company. She was a late member of the impresario Rabinoff's Boston Opera Company.
