Franz Pácal (Tenor) (Litomyšl 1865 - Nepomuk, Pilsen 1938)




His real name was František PacalHe was a violinist in the orchestra of the National Theatre in Prague from 1887 to 1892. Then, after vocal studies with Gustav Walter in Vienna, Pacal sang in choruses in Cologne, Bremen, Graz and Vienna. In 1897, he sang the small part of Ruodi in ''Guillaume Tell'' in Vienna, and immediately was made a soloist. Between 1905 and 1913, he sang succesively in Prague, Riga and Posen. During the Great War, Pacal served as a senior official in the grain office in Prague. He recorded during 1902-1908. His records are quite rare.
