Benno Haberl (Tenor) (Wien 1875 - Weimar 1942)



He began his stage career in 1909 at the Court Theatre in Weimar and remained there until his retirement (1932). He appeared in Weimar in different opera premieres. Here he sang among other things in the premieres of R. Wagner’s ‘’Parsifal’’ and ‘’Ariadne auf Naxos’’ of  R. Strauss. Also performed there in the premiere of the opera ‘’Hirtenlegende’’ of Eugene Bodart (19. 12. 1930). He was famous in the Central Germany as a concert and oratorios singer. Later began work as a vocal pedagogue in Weimar.
