Nina Lezhen (Mezzo-Soprano) (Tbilisi, Georgia 1881 - Hyères, France 1961)





Her real surname was Weber. She studied singing at the St. Petersburg Conservatory under Natalya Iretskaya. As a student she made her debut at the conservatory performace of Rimsky-Korsakov's ''Kashey immortal'' (1905). Later she sang at the National House of St. Petersburg, in the 1908-1909 season she performed at the St. Petersburg Mariinsky Theatre. Since 1912 she was a soloist of the St. Petersburg Theatre Passage. In the 1911-1912 season she made guest appearances at the S. Zimin's Opera House.  She also sang in Tbilisi and Paris (1912).
