He received his education in his hometown Palermo under the
pedagogue Antonio Cantelli. In 1894 he made his debut; after he had appeared as
successful baritone first in Italy ,
he went early to North America . He appeared
there in the centers of the music life and had above all a significant career
as a member of traveling opera societies. Thus he was active from 1920-25 with
the San Carlo Opera Company. By the end of his career which lasted till the 1930’s
he appeared primarily in buffo roles.
