Alberto Amadi (Tenor) (Trieste 1876 - ?)





Probably he made his debut in 1898 and appeared in Italian provincial theaters. In 1903 he sang in Mexico City. In 1905 he appeared at Politeama of Livorno as Almaviva in ‘’Il Barbiere di Siviglia’’. In 1908 Amadi performed at the Teatro Arriaga in Bilbao. In 1910 he went to North America where he traveled through the USA with different opera troupes. He was married to soprano Maria Ballieräs. Probably he finished his career in 1919. The end of the career of the singer developed tragically; he fallen ill early and remained paralyzed. His wife worked during 25 years at the Metropolitan Opera as an usher to support  the family.
