RENO ANDREINI
In 1902, he appeared at the Teatro Nicolini in his native Florence,
where he sang the role of Arturo in I Puritani by V. Bellini, alongside Luisa
Tetrazzini. In 1903, he guest performed at the Teatro Petruzzelli in Bari, and
in 1904 at the Teatro Massimo in Palermo, where he performed as Turiddu in
Cavalleria Rusticana (partnering with Eugenia Burzio and Pasquale Amato),
Edgardo in Lucia di Lammermoor, and Almaviva in Il Barbiere di Siviglia (with
Maria Barrientos). In 1915, he sang at this opera house again, this time as
Cavaradossi in Tosca. In 1905, he appeared at the Teatro Costanzi in Rome as
Hoffmann in I Racconti di Hoffmann. In 1906, he performed with an Italian opera
troupe in St. Petersburg and Moscow, where he sang the role of the Duke in
Rigoletto. In 1910, he performed at the Teatro San Carlo in Naples as Milio in
Zazà by R. Leoncavallo. In 1916, he spent a season at the opera in Havana,
where he performed in La Traviata, Lucia di Lammermoor, and La Sonnambula,
partnering with Amelita Galli-Curci. In 1917, he returned to the Teatro
Costanzi in Rome as José in Carmen, Pinkerton in Madama Butterfly, and Dick
Johnson in G. Puccini’s La Fanciulla del West. In 1924, he appeared in Holland
alongside the famous soprano Gemma Bellincioni in La Traviata.
