Giuseppe Kaschmann (Baritone) (Mali Lošinj 1847 – Rome 1925)

He was one of the best baritones of the late 19th century and the early 20th century. His real name was Josip Kašman. First he studied law, then singing with Alberto Giovanni. He made his debut (1876) in Turin as Alfonso in ‘’Favorita’’. Kaschmann performed with great success in Spain, Portugal, La Scala, Teatro Costanzi, Metropolitan Opera, Covent Garden, St. Petersburg, Moscow, Monte Carlo, Cairo, Teatro Colon (Buenos Aires), Bayreuth and Rio de Janeiro.
