Piero Pauli (Tenor) (Barcelona 1898 - Pisa 1967)
He studied at the Teatro Liceo in Barcelona and debuted in 1929 at the Teatro Politeama Rossi in Trieste in ‘’Mefistofele’’ of Boito. In 1930 he sang at La Scala in Puccini’s ‘’La Boheme’’ as Rodolfo. In 1935 with great success Pauli again performed at La Scala, this time as Rinuccio in Puccini’s ‘’Gianni Schicchi’’. In 1933 he made guest appearance in the Grand Theatre of Monte Carlo as Alfredo in ‘’La Traviata’’. In 1946 he sang last time at the Teatro Grattacielo in Genoa as Cavaradossi in ‘’Tosca’’. In the end of 1946 he became ill and after retiring he lived in Pisa with his daughter who worked as a doctor.
