MARIE THIÉRY (1870 – 1918)

 

 

 

She made her debut at La Monnaie in Brussels during the 1900/01 season as Mimi, becoming the first singer to perform this role in Brussels. She later established herself at the Opéra-Comique in Paris, making her Paris debut in Gounod’s Mireille. She also performed in the world premieres of the title role in Missa’s Muguette (1903), Georget in Bruneau’s L’Enfant Roi (1905), and Geneviève in Silver’s Le Clos (1906).
