She was a pupil of Wilhelm Kloed in Oslo and she made her debut there in 1898 in a concert. She continued her study with Mrs. Clementine Schuch-Proska in Dresden and made her debut in Oslo as an opera singer in the part of Gretel in ‘’Hansel und Gretel’’ (1903). Guest performances followed in Stockholm and at the Berlin Court Opera, where which she was engaged in the 1907-1911 seasons. Her repertoire included Carmen, Tosca, the title part in ‘’Madama Butterfly’’, Mimi in ‘’La Bohème’’ and Nedda in ‘’Pagliacci’’. Since 1930, after a heavy stage accident, she appeared only as a concert singer, namely in the central Scandinavian music centers. She worked as a pedagogue in Oslo and also appeared as lyric poet and novella writer. During the Second World War, after the occupation of Norway by the German troops, she joined to the Quisling movement. From 1942 to 1945 she was a temporary leader of the Norwegian theaters. Then she retired and after the end of the war lived in Oslo.
