In 1915, he performed at the Teatro Comunale of Bologna as Amenofi in Mosè in Egitto by G. Rossini. He returned to Bologna in 1918 as Radamès in Aida, and in 1927, he appeared as Dimitri in Boris Godunov and as Herodes in R. Strauss's Salome.

In 1916, he performed at La Scala, once again as Radamès in Aida. He returned to La Scala in 1918 to sing Elisero in Mosè in Egitto. From 1923 to 1932, he regularly appeared at La Scala, where he sang in the premiere of I. Pizzetti's Debora e Jaele (December 16, 1922, conducted by A. Toscanini) and in the Italian premiere of M. Mussorgsky's Khovanshchina in 1926.

In the 1918-19 season, he was engaged by the Chicago Opera, and during the 1919-20 season, he performed at the Lexington Theatre in New York in Loreley. In 1919, he appeared at Covent Garden in London, and in 1920, he sang at the Arena di Verona in G. Verdi's Aida. He also guested at the Teatro San Carlo in Naples for the premiere of G. Puccini's La Rondine in 1918, as well as for the premieres of Debora e Jaele (1930) and the Italian premiere of E. Bloch's Macbeth (1938).

In 1936, he sang at the Teatro Carlo Felice in Genoa for the premiere of Gian Francesco Malipiero's opera Giulio Cesare. In 1925, he appeared at the Teatro Regio in Turin for the Italian premiere of Richard Strauss's Ariadne auf Naxos, performing the role of Bacchus. He sang the role of Pollione in Norma at the Teatro Comunale in Florence in 1931, Ismaele in Nabucco in 1933, and Licinio in G. Spontini's La Vestale (which he also sang in 1933 at the Maggio Musicale in Florence, opposite Rose Ponselle). Later, he taught singing in Bergamo.
