Camilla Pasini (Soprano) (Roma 1875 - ?1935)





She was a sister of the great Italian dramatic soprano Lina Pasini-Vitale (1872-1959). Camilla Pasini received her education at the Accademia di Santa Cecilia in Rome and she made her debut in ‘’Trovatore’’ at the Teatro Nazionale of Rome, probably in 1895. She became known above all by the fact that she sang the part of the Musetta in the premiere of Puccini’s opera ‘’La Bohème’’ on 1. 2. 1896 at the Teatro Regio of Turin under Arturo Toscanini. She appeared as a Musetta in Brescia, Genoa, Trieste, Asti and at the Teatro Costanzi in Rome. In 1902 she undertook a South America tour. She sang in Italy among other things Palermo, Trieste, Padua, Cremona, Milan and Rome. Already in 1905 she decided to finish her stage career after a marriage with lawyer Muzi, but sang till 1912. In 1911 she performed again at the Teatro Costanzi in Rome (here in the premiere of the opera ‘’La Vigilia di Notte’’ of Teofilo De Angelis) and in the Teatro Sociale in Mantua the stage. She made two records for Columbia.
