Knut Öhrström (Tenor) (Stockholm 17/6 1885 - Stockholm 17/9 1964)




First he studied singing under John Östergren in Stockholm, then with Vittorio Vanza in Milan. He made his debut in 1916 at the Royal Opera in Stockholm as Turiddu in ‘’Cavalleria Rusticana’’. Till 1924 he remained a member of this theater, where he appeared with success as Radames in ‘’Aida’’, Don José in ‘’Carmen’’, Samson in ‘’Samson et Dalila’’ and as Lohengrin. Together with the composer Hugo Alfvén he undertook a tour through the USA. In 1930 he withdrew from the stage and then worked as pedagogue in Stockholm.
