Germaine Féraldy (Soprano) (Toulouse, France 1894 - Toulouse, France 1949)

She was trained at the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional de Toulouse and at the Conservatoire de Paris. First she appeared at the French provincial operatic stages. In 1924 she joined to the Opéra-Comique in Paris, where she made her debut as Micaela in ‘’Carmen’’. Here she remained active till 1942 and had a huge success as Manon, Marguerite and Traviata. She performed at the Opéra-Comique in the premiere of the opera ‘’Le bon Roi Dagobert’’ (5. 12. 1927, as Natilde) and sang there in 1920 the part of Marie in the first performance of B. Smetana’s ‘’Verkaufter Braut’’. She made guest appearances in Nice, Monte Carlo (1921, as Nedda in ‘’Pagliacci’’), Brussels and London. In 1938 at Rio de Janeiro she performed in C. Gounod’s ‘’Mireille’’ and in A. Adam’s ‘’Si j'étais Roi’’. She was a successful concert singer. After her retirement from the stage, she received a professorship at the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional de Toulouse.
