Jeanne Campredon (Soprano) (? 1884 - ?)




Her real name was Jeanne Hagoun. She debuted in 1908 at the Grand Opéra in Paris as  Marguerite de Valois in ''Gli Ugonotti'' of G. Meyerbeer. Till 1934 she sang at the Grand Opéra. In 1909 she appeared in the première there of R. Wagner's ''Rheingold''. In 1927 she sang in the première of R. Strauss's ''Rosenkavalier'' at the Grand Opéra as a partner of Germaine Lubin, Jane Laval, Albert Huberty and Ketty Lapeyrette. Her repertoire included Mathilde in G. Rossini's ''Wilhelm Tell'', Ophélie in ''Hamlet'' of A. Thomas,  Juliette in ''Roméo et Juliette'' of C. Gounod, Gilda in ''Rigoletto'', Marguerite in ''Faust'' of C. Gounod, Venus in ''Tannhäuser'' and the title part in ''Gwendoline'' of E. Chabrier. She was a highly respected concert and oratorio singer.
