Paul Papsdorf (Tenor) (Dresden 13. 10. 1881 † Trelleborg/Schweden 6. 10. 1941)




As a boy he sang in the choir of the Dresden court church, then became an elementary teacher. While he worked in this occupation, he studied singing in Dresden. In 1910 he began his stage career at the Hoftheater in Altenburg (Thüringen). His stage repertoire included Tannhäuser, Lohengrin, Parsifal, Pedro in "Tiefland" and Prophet in "Die toten Augen". In 1912 he made only one record for Edison in Berlin.
