Sergey Preobrazhensky (Bass) (Uryupinsk, Russia 1874 - ?)




He was a choir singer in Moscow and, from 1898, a member of the chorus of the Mariinsky Opera in St Petersburg. After studies with O. Palechek, he became a soloist in the same theatre from 1900 to 1924, with a break between 1901 and 1907, during which time he sang in Moscow with Mamontov's opera company at the Hermitage Theatre, the Moscow private Russian Opera and the Zimin company, as wen as making guest appearances with the Kiev opera. He was also known as a recitalist.
