Isidoro Fagoaga (Tenor) (Vera, Navarra, Spain 1895 - San Sebastian, Spain 1976)





He studied singing with the pedagogue Luis Iribarne and then went to continue his education in Italy. There he studied at the conservatory of  Parma under M. Silva. He made his debut in 1920 at the Teatro Grande in Madrid as Samson in ‘’Samson et Dalila’’ of Saint-Saens. Probably his first appearance in Italy was at the Teatro San Carlo in Naples where he sang the role of Siegmund in Wagner’s ‘’Walkiria’’. He soon became the leading Wagner's tenor in Italy and counted as a successor of the great italian tenor Giuseppe Borgatti. After the Second World War he emigrated again to Buenos Aires. Here he been active as a music author and as a correspondent of the Argentine newspaper ‘’La Prensa’’.
