Attilio Barbieri (Tenor) (Parma 1896 - Milan 1967)

He was artisan of the chisel and he sang in the Choral Euterpe. A patron, the industrialist Richard Barilla, made him study song, with Annibale Pizzarelli before, then with the tenor Giuseppe Borgatti, finally with Amilcare Zanella. Despite the high hopes that Borgatti put back in himthat Borgatti the true glory not the arrises never. In Aug. 1926 he sang in a concert of the school of Borgatti at Teatro di Colorno and has come back a week later and sang under the direction of Renzo Martini as Turiddu in ''Cavalleria rusticana'' at the Teatro Politeama Reinach in Parma, where he appeared in the same opera in the following spring. On  26. 04. 1927 with Borgatti he took part in a concert at the Gande Sala of the Liceo Musicale in Bologna. On  Oct. 1927 he appeared at the Teatro Dal Verme in Milan in ''Isabeau'' of Mascagni, then he sang in Asti as Radames in ''Aida''. In 1928 he was successful in ''Aida'' and ''Il Trovatore'' at the Teatro Miramare di Tripoli. In the 1928-29 season at the Teatro Regio di Parma, there was a massacre of Radames: they fell one after the other Giuseppe Radaelli, Antonino Trantoul and Francesco Merli. The manager didn't know whether to do for the last 2 performances. For the two performances it sang Attilio Barbieri. It was his moment of glory: then the career continued on less important stages.
